Using Contextual Images
Optional photographs for finished articles: a maximum, not a quota, with fail-soft behaviour.

Contextual Images is an optional QueueWrite capability. It is off by default. When enabled, QueueWrite can source suitable photographs from Pexels while it builds the article.
In Settings, Images per article can be 1, 2 or 3. That number is a maximum. QueueWrite may add 3, 2, 1 or no images, depending on whether suitable photographs are available. QueueWrite would rather use fewer images than add an irrelevant stock photo.
What 1, 2 and 3 mean
- 1 — up to one contextual image
- 2 — up to two contextual images
- 3 — up to three contextual images
How QueueWrite chooses images
- The configured Writer provider plans concrete photographic search intents from the article and its context.
- QueueWrite searches Pexels using those visual concepts, not simply every section heading as a search phrase.
- Candidate photographs must be sufficiently relevant to those concepts.
- Weak or misleading matches are skipped.
- Accepted images are attached with provenance and credit information, then placed according to the article structure (for example near a relevant heading) rather than at fixed word-count intervals.
QueueWrite does not inspect photograph pixels with computer vision. Relevance is judged from the article context and the provider’s text metadata for each candidate image.
Fail-soft behaviour
Contextual Images are fail-soft. If image search fails, no suitable image exists, the provider is unavailable, or the API credential is missing, the text article can still complete. Image failure is not the same as article-generation failure.
WordPress
- Selected images are uploaded into the WordPress Media Library when you publish
- The hero image can become the WordPress featured image
- Contextual images in the post body use the uploaded WordPress media URLs
- Alt text and credit/caption details are included with the media where supported
- Already-uploaded media saved on the article is reused on later publish attempts
Connect and enable Pexels on the Pexels Setup page before turning Contextual Images on for new articles.
